Art For Every Palette
With so many changes and things going on in our wo With so many changes and things going on in our world the past year, I try to remember and teach Payne that each moment is a fresh beginning. Life's not about expecting, hoping and wishing, it's about doing, being and becoming. I like to get up everyday and work hard at being a better mom, artist and person. I like the dreams of the future better than the history of the past! Great things are happening in our world and we hope the same for you and yours. We hope that your holiday was magical and we wish you the happiest new year! 2023 already looking like it’s going to be amazing!
It has been 10 years since @modernluxury Atlanta, It has been 10 years since @modernluxury Atlanta, and @theatlantan magazine featured my son, Payne, and I in an article called “Creative Class”. The article featured my mommy must haves. With so much that has changed in 10 years, some things stayed the same, especially my love for my son and my career. Being an entrepreneur has allowed me to be the best mom that I can be. They say kids grow up fast, they really do. It seems like yesterday this article was published. 10 years later here we are again! The antique school desk and chair look a bit smaller these days. What a blessing to watch Payne grow, and for me to grow stronger as a mom, person an artist. Thank you so much for having us back on the pages of The Atlantan magazine. We are out here still painting the town!
Thank you to everyone who came out to my art shows Thank you to everyone who came out to my art shows the past couple of weeks. Atlanta and Nashville friends and clients are amazing and I love catching up with everyone. It’s a great way to kick off the holiday show season. Stay tuned for more, coming in December.
My inspiration, my love, my everything. This littl My inspiration, my love, my everything. This little guy brings the world so much joy. He is the best gallery date, he has been visiting galleries since he was a week old and still a Huff Harrington Fine Art favorite.
36” x 36”, mixed media on canvas, “Fearless”. Just wanted to tell you that you are so creative! Everyone has creativity and I hear the opposite from people all the time. Creativity is a process and you have to tap into it just like you do your happiness.

One of my little secrets to getting in the mood in the studio is to use my imagination more in everything I do in life. Often, I have to dig deep and tap into the desire to create. The only way to do that is to let all of my worries wash off of me and think of that little girl who was carefree and had all day to just create in a playful way. This is creative meditation.

It kills me when my ten year old son says he is bored. When he says this, I tell him to use his imagination, go outside or grab a piece of paper and a pencil to draw or write. Every time he does, he gets quiet and the transformation in his attitude and confidence is amazing. His drawings are pretty amazing too.

Try it right now, turn off electronics, go on a walk, just sit and close your eyes or grab a piece of paper and pencil. Tap into that feeling of being a kid again or that time you created something you were proud of, dreaming and using your imagination with no worries of this crazy world attached to your thoughts. It is amazing. You have to create the space to create creativity. Use your imagination today.
36” x 36”, mixed media on canvas, “Peaceful”. Peaceful means free from disturbance, not involving war, tranquil. Don’t know about you but lately that has been my number one goal, to be peaceful. Having a peaceful heart and soul. It’s a beautiful thing. I hope you have a very peaceful weekend friends!
It is an honor to be asked by Northwest Mississipp It is an honor to be asked by Northwest Mississippi College to fill the walls of their fine art gallery for a month long exhibit. Starting Northwest at just 17 years old, the education I received as a business student was the perfect first step that led me to The University of Mississippi where I earned a degree in marketing. My show entitled “Art for Every Palette” will be on display at the college the month of October. For all of the wonderful opportunities that Northwest provided, I feel a deep sense of gratitude, it is such an honor to be back in my home state of Mississippi for this very special exhibit. Opening Reception, Thursday, October 6, 2022, 5:00 - 7:00PM, Northwest Art Gallery, 100 Porter Street, Senatobia, Mississippi
The show will open to the public on Monday, October 3. The exhibition will remain on display through Friday, November 11. Northwest Art Gallery hours are Monday - Thursday from 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM and Fridays from 8:00 AM - noon.
